Suptropic pop sensation and South Florida New Times' Best Male Rock Vocalist winner Mike Mineo is back from his successful three month national tour that covered most of America and parts of Canada. The tour was in support of his freshman release Eccentricity. Eccentricity was self released on his own record label Nevernothing Records with help from co-owner and producer Brent Williams aka Teasley (Burning Spear, Cat Power). Eccentricity was well received by college, internet & commercial radio.
MINEO has recently released their latest album "Beach Season" to sold out crowds in South, FL. MINEO is in the midst of booking an east coast tour to support Beach Season. Mineo says "We are waiting on the vinyl records to be pressed. Keepin' it old school takes time ya know!?" Beach Season was produced by Grammy nominated recording engineer and producer Matt Wheeler (Stevie Wonder, The Pussycat Dolls, Dr. Dre, Koko Taylor) alongside long time friend Brent Williams at South Florida's Power Station Studios. The album features: Lori Button & Katherine Yarborough on backup vocals. They add a fresh breeze to MINEO's songs with their intricate and often whimsical vocal harmonies. Also along for the second ride on the upcoming album and upcoming Northeast tour are existing members Johnny Mineo (brother) on Bass and Darin Scott on drums.
The virtuosic musicians say that the 10-track album called Beach Season is a dedication to all the inspiration South Florida's sandy beaches have given them. There is only one season in Florida and that is Beach Season. "The album starts with a sunrise and ends with a night beach jam celebration. You can practically hear the waves and feel the sea breeze in all the songs", he says. With track listings such as "Subtropic Sunrise ," "Beach Guava," and "Subtropic Sunset," this is true beach bonfire fare.
